Location

Stretching between Akron and Cleveland, the 33,0000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park sits in Ohio’s northeast corner.

  • Attend one of Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s cultural, natural history, or ranger-guided program.
  • Take a seat on Cuyahoga Valley’s scenic railroad and watch the park unfold before you! You’ll pass meadows, marches, rivers, forests—catching glimpses of deer, blue heron, and other creatures.

More Time?

  • Make sure to see the Mill Creek Falls, Newburgh Heights, a 45-foot waterfall spawned early lumber and grain mills, vibrant during the Canal Era.
  • Visit the Canal Visitor Center, Canal Road, Valley View, to see operating lock demonstrations.
  • Visit the Village of Peninsula located in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park to experience this historic canal village and artists community.

  • A good map is key! The Cuyahoga Valley National Park can be tricky to navigate. Bring a print out of the Official Map found on Expedia.
  • Visit during the spring, when Cuyahoga Valley Park’s wildflowers are in bloom. Their breathtaking displays demand plenty of pictures.
